Spotlight on: The refreshed space

Author Editor - 1 minute read

With the excitement of all the festivities behind us, we’re all eager to start ticking off our New Year’s goals. A new year brings a fresh start and what better time to get organised and refresh your favourite spaces for the year ahead.

There is no time like the present and homeware influencer Justin of @design_at_nineteen has already started the ball rolling with his first goal of 2022. With the help of a few key pieces from our autumn winter home collection, Justin’s first goal was to "create and bring a sense of calm to his spare bedroom, by getting it organised".

With the addition of neutral, earthy tones and natural textures, here’s how Justin got organised and refresh his space for 2022...

By swapping out his drawers that once sat in the alcove of his spare bedroom for our beautiful French Cane cabinet, he now has an impactful storage space with shelves, perfect for storing all his spare linen, textiles, and books in an easy-to-access location.

Our French Cane Cabinet is crafted from light natural cane and durable responsible mango wood. The hand-woven cane catches the light beautifully and offers a ventilated storage space for all eventualities.

Justin also added our new Amalfi Jute bench to the end of his guest bed, an understated piece that also doubles up as a place to sit and relax. It features a woven jute seat and a sleek iron frame, perfect for using as a contemporary solution to perch on or layer clothes onto after a long day.

He also styled a selection of soft-touch textiles around the room, like our washed velvet cushions and a midsummer throw, to add a pop of colour and texture to the space and soften the look and make it feel cosier, especially during the colder winter months.

We are not forgetting accessories too – Justin added extra interest to the room with a dose of texture with the addition of our Papier Mache Bowl. The rather minimalist home accessory is crafted from responsible papier mache and has uneven edges, set to stimulate conversations when his guests arrive.

Not only is his spare bedroom better organised, but it is also now the perfect space for him and his guests to unwind and relax in. What New Year’s refreshes have you planned for your home?
