In focus: Celebrating Pride together in your city

Author Editor - 3 minute read

As a branch of our Community Connection campaign, we're celebrating Pride by putting the spotlight on three of our UK stores; London, Brighton and Manchester, where our lovely store teams have shared how they're celebrating Pride together in their city...

HELLO LONDON | 1ST JUL

We're putting the spotlight on London, where the store team have shared how they're celebrating Pride...

Tell us about the importance of the LGBTQ+ community to the Duke Street store team…

The LGBTQ+ community is important to us as they show that love ALWAYS wins!

What are you looking forward to most about London Pride this weekend?

The bright colours! The noise! The atmosphere throughout London this weekend will be amazing.

What are your top tips for celebrating Pride in London?

Central London will be your go-to hub. If you can get to areas such as Covent Garden, The Strand, Soho, Leicester Square and Old Compton Street, you will have so much to see and do!

We asked our Duke Street, London store team to share their recommendations for celebrating Pride in their city...

  1. Be At One cocktail bar, Greek Street, Soho - The perfect place for a pre-party Pride event!

  2. Perception bar, Leicester Square - We recommend the Rainbow Cocktail, it's only £2!

  3. The G-A-Y bar, Old Compton Street - It's world famous and a great LGBTQ+ hotspot!

HELLO BRIGHTON | 5TH - 6TH AUG

We're putting the spotlight on Brighton, where the store team have shared how they're celebrating Pride...

Tell us about the importance of the LGBTQ+ community to you & the rest of the team…

The LGBTQ+ community is all about acceptance, no matter of your gender, size and sexual preference.

What are your top tips for celebrating Pride in Brighton?

Stay hydrated and wear SPF - your skin and body will be grateful.

Embrace the rainbow.

Leave all worries at home.

Sequins, sequins and more sequins!

We asked our Brighton store team to share their mini guide to celebrating Pride in their city...

Where to drink: There's lots of options, but our favourites are, Bar Revenge, Rooftop Bar, Amsterdam, Legends and Plotting Parlour.

What to eat: Our go to restaurant would be The Coal Shed for meat lovers and then Terre à Terre for a vegan option.

Where to explore: The Seafront - lots of clubs, bars and restaurants. What better place to celebrate Pride than with drinks friends and an amazing sunset.

HELLO MANCHESTER | 25TH - 28TH AUG

We're putting the spotlight on Manchester, where the store team have shared how they're celebrating Pride...

Tell us about the importance of Manchester Pride to you & the rest of the store team...

The Manchester LGBTQ+ community is not just about Pride weekend. It truly is one of the most inclusive and diverse cities in the UK, 365 days of the year. But every year there is an extra special feel around the city during the August Bank Holiday weekend.

We've asked our Manchester store team to share their mini guide to celebrating Pride in their city...

Top of our list has to be the party in The Village - The heart of the LGBTQ+ community in Manchester. No doubt the famous Canal Street with its bars and clubs will be the place where everyone flocks!

Explore Manchester - If you're making a weekend of it, then step away from The Village and explore Manchester. The whole city celebrates Pride and as usual there is sure to be buzz wherever to find yourself. Head to the Northern Quarter for loads more bars and more places to eat than you could possibly need.

Here's some of the team's favourite places across the city:

Society - Street food and drinks galore.
Escape To Freight Island - Food, drink & lots of music
Bundobust - Incredible vegetarian food from the street scene of Mumbai.
Wolf At The Door - Their Bao buns and mini tacos are too good to miss.
21 Stories - Cocktails and great views of the city skyline.
The Ivy - To get away from the crowds for a little more sophistication.

What is your top tip for celebrating Pride in Manchester?

Don't peak too early, remember you have 3 days of partying to enjoy.
